The Real China restaurant has closed down voluntarily after reports that more than 30 people have fallen ill after eating at the restaurant. Eastleigh Borough Council, in conjunction with Public Health England, have started an investigation to find the cause of the outbreak and this investigation is still ongoing. The Council has confirmed on their website that the restaurant has agreed to remain closed "until such time that the Council's Environmental Health Team are satisfied that a health risk no longer exists".
The Council has further stated that it took action because all of the people who have fallen ill had eaten at the restaurant.

Expert Opinion
We have now been instructed by three people who have been affected by this alleged outbreak. The symptoms described to us by our clients are particularly concerning, as these reports come just months after another branch of The Real China, in Poole, was closed in March 2014 because of hygiene concerns.
“We have seen a number of instances in the past where Salmonella has had a major impact on sufferers, with problems often leading to the development of long-term health conditions which sufferers may never fully recover from.
“Our clients want answers and we welcome the steps Eastleigh Borough Council and Public Health England have taken and we hope their investigations can be completed quickly to provide customers of the restaurant with information regarding the source and cause of the outbreak.” Amandeep Dhillon - Partner
