Knowsley Council is believed to be investigating the problems and the Council has been reported to have stated that the outbreak has been linked to Woks Cooking on Richard Hesketh Drive, Kirkby.
Up to 14 people are believed to have been affected by the problems, with some also requiring hospital treatment due to the severity of the gastric illness symptoms which they have suffered. Authorities closed the takeaway on 23 July 2014 following an Emergency Prohibition Order.
