Law Firm And Charity Launch Competition To Show There Are No Limits For People With Disabilities
National law firm Irwin Mitchell and UK charity 'Contact a Family', have joined forces to create an inspirational story-driven competition which brings together a wide range of people in all communities to represent their vision of ‘No Limit’s in an educational and creative way.
Specialist lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, in association with charity Contact a Family have launched an online photo competition called ‘No Limits’ and are inviting people to enter images which are positive, empowering and which demonstrate that every disabled person has the right to live their life and work towards their goals free from limitations.
The ‘No Limits aim’ is to bring together a wide range of people in all communities to share their vision of ‘no limits’ portrayed by a simple photograph.
Stuart Henderson, from Irwin Mitchell, said:
All abilities are welcome to enter and ‘No Limits’ is looking for individuals from across the country. Winners will be judged on individual merit rather than the standard of their photography technique.
There are five categories that people can enter; Independence, People, Ambition, Life and an overall competition winner category. Each category will be divided into two age groups so both adults and children can take part. And it’s not just disabled children and adults that can enter – the competition is open to families and friends to enter too.
The competition is being run in association with Contact a Family, a UK-wide charity that exists to support the families of disabled children whatever their condition or disability. With over 30 years experience, their vision is that families with disabled children are empowered to live the lives they want and achieve their full potential, for themselves, for the communities they live in, and for society.
Martin Cullen from Contact a Family, added: “We hope that by sharing their amazing stories some of the entrants will inspire those individuals, and their families, who may currently be struggling to come to terms with their disability. Having a disability should not mean that you cannot realise your dreams.”
Entries need to be submitted by midnight on 24 November 2013.
