Midlands Law Firm Shows Support To Local Head Injury Charity
Specialist injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office have given the charity Headway an early festive present by sponsoring their annual Christmas party to show their continued support for the organisation.
The law firm will also be donating a further £1,000 to Headway Black Country which will help to create a hardship fund so that service users of limited means can access sessions that will be of benefit to them.
The Christmas Party is being held at The Bostin Fittle, Dudley on Wednesday 18 December and will be attended by service users, carers, volunteers and staff. Katie Jones, Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, has also been invited to attend.
Headway Black Country is a brain injury rehabilitation service. They offer a wide range of activities in Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton which are designed to help brain injury survivors relearn lost skills and gain new ones.
Expert Opinion
We continue to work closely with Headway Black Country and our aim is to raise awareness about brain injuries and the devastating effect they have on the sufferer and their carers.
"Headway provides a vital service to those who have suffered a brain injury and their families, not only for the support they receive but for the opportunity to meet others living with the same condition, giving them the opportunity to talk about their feelings with someone who understands.
“We have seen firsthand that for many of our seriously injured clients, early rehabilitation is crucial to improving their prospects of a better recovery. However, local authority cuts have been threatening Headway's ability to provide support, so it has never been more important to raise awareness about the excellent role they play in supporting those affected by brain injury.”
Katie Flatman - Solicitor
Stephen Phipps, Headway Black Country’s Chief Officer commented, “Brain injury is condition with often complex effects for the person directly affected and for their family and friends. We are delighted with the support that we have received from Irwin Mitchell both through these financial contributions and their continuing interest and support for the work we do with survivors and their families/carers.”
