Sexual Abuse Investigation By Metropolitan Police Continues

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has today (29/08/2013) charged TV presenter Rolf Harris with nine counts of indecent assault under the Sexual Offences Act 1956 and four counts of making indecent images of a child under the Protection of Children Act 1978.

The actions are part of the Metropolitan Police Service’s Operation Yewtree which is the investigation into alleged sexual abuse, primarily of children, by Jimmy Savile and others.

The CPS says the alleged indecent assaults by Rolf Harris date from 1980 to 1986 and relate to two complainants aged 14 and 15 at the time of the alleged offending.

Rolf Harris will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 23 September 2013.
