Group Chief Executive Reveals Pride Over Latest Directory Results
Irwin Mitchell’s group chief executive John Pickering hailed the firm’s innovative and pioneering attitude as both personal and business legal services divisions posted impressive results in the latest Chambers & Partners directory with almost 100 lawyers recommended in the guide.
The independent publication, which grades solicitors and barristers across 60 areas of law in the UK, featured 98 lawyers from Irwin Mitchell as ‘Leaders in their Field’.
Personal Injury lawyers Alison Eddy and Colin Ettinger were highlighted as leading individuals. Polly Sweeney from the Public Law team was quoted as a ‘star associate’ while Clinical Negligence partner Hillary Wetherell and employment partners Ed Cotton and Glenn Hayes were named as ‘up and coming’. A further 20 lawyers were ranked as number one in their field with 20 associates highlighted as ‘ones to watch’.
Irwin Mitchell’s Group Chief Executive John Pickering, who is named among the Senior Statesmen of law in the guide, said: “To have so many people once again recognised for their excellence by an independent legal guide is testament to our hard work. It makes me very proud to be leading this firm when we have so much talent working on behalf of our clients.
“Irwin Mitchell prides itself on its innovative approach and always putting the needs of clients first whether we are working with individuals, international organisations, or businesses. I’m delighted that our rankings have been improving year on year for some time now and in the new Chambers guide we will have almost 100 lawyers recommended as leaders in their field.
“The firm has continued to impress and retain its position as having leading personal injury and private client lawyers while our investment in the business legal services division is reflected in the significant increase in the number of lawyers that are recommended.”
The latest results follow a strong performance in the Legal 500 UK rankings in which Irwin Mitchell’s Personal Legal Services teams secured 12 number one rankings.
Irwin Mitchell was also confirmed as having become one of the first Alternative Business Structures to be approved by the SRA and the first multiple-licensed firm, receiving five licences for companies within its group structure, including Ascent, on 20 August 2012.
