

Firm Reacts To Performance In Latest Directory
Irwin Mitchell’s Personal Legal Services division again performed strongly in the Chambers & Partners directory with over 60 lawyers recommended in the guide and the firm maintaining its top spot in several areas of personal law.
The independent publication, which grades solicitors and barristers across 60 areas of law in the UK, has ranked and featured lawyers from within the firm’s business team as ‘Leaders in their Field’ on 61 occasions.
Irwin Mitchell Group Chief Executive John Pickering was named as a Senior Statesman of law while Alison Eddy and Colin Ettinger were highlighted as leading individuals. Polly Sweeney was quoted as a ‘star associate’ and Hillary Wetherell was named as an ‘up and coming’ lawyer. A further 18 partners were ranked as number one in their field with 11 associates highlighted as ‘ones to watch’.

Across the UK the firm was ranked top law firm for Personal Industry including Industrial Disease, Clinical Negligence, Product Liability, International Travel Personal Injury and Court of Protection. The firm was also ranked highly for Administrative and Public Law, Civil Liberties and Human Rights including Prison Law.
Around the regions the firm was ranked as number one for Personal Injury in Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield and tier two in Bristol and Scotland. While for Clinical Negligence the firm was top in Birmingham, London and Sheffield and tier two in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
In Sheffield the firm was ranked number one for Private Client and Family Law work and tier two in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and top three in London.
