Irwin Mitchell's Sheffield Real Estate Team Advise Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme
The Real Estate and Corporate teams within the Sheffield office have had a busy start to 2012, advising some of city’s best known organisations as well as a number of large international companies.
The Real Estate team has advised the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme on its plans to transform a near barren industrial estate area into a state-of-the-art community facility.
The proposals for a 5.2 acre site on Penistone Road in Sheffield include the development of a new family-focused community centre, a healthcare centre and pharmacy, numerous classrooms, indoor and outdoor pitches and ancillary accommodation.
Should the planning application be successful, building work is scheduled to commence this summer, with completion of the project set for the spring of 2013.
The team, which was recently named Yorkshire Property Law Firm of the Year for 2011, also acted for Sheffield Hallam University in a deal to sell Broomgrove Hall, a former hall of residence on the University’s Collegiate Campus.
The Corporate team has been busy on the deal front too. Most recently, they have advised AES Engineering on its acquisition of Absolute Vacuum, whilst also supporting Energy Alloys on a £70m refinancing.
