Law Firm Hails 'Well-Deserved Recognition'
Irwin Mitchell is delighted to announce that former chairman Michael Napier has been named “Lawyer of the Year 2012” at a prestigious legal industry awards event held in London.
Michael, who will retire from Irwin Mitchell at the end of April after 40 years at the firm (30 as senior partner), was recognised at the Legal Business Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel last night (February 9th).
Now in its 15th year, the event organised by publication Legal Business is held to acknowledge the excellent work carried out by lawyers across the UK and internationally.
Against stiff competition, the judges selected Michael, for his “instrumental” role in developing Irwin Mitchell over 40 years into its current status as a “national powerhouse”.
John Pickering, Group Chief Executive of Irwin Mitchell, said: “Michael’s award is a well-deserved recognition of the distinguished career that he has enjoyed in the legal sector and that he has been behind some of the major law reforms over the past 40 years.
“We are delighted that Legal Business has acknowledged the huge role that he has played in the development of Irwin Mitchell and beyond.”
