Irwin Mitchell Scotland Raise Funds For The Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Unit
Irwin Mitchell staff in the Glasgow office got their running shoes on and raised money for the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Unit. Team IMRunning Glasgow, made up of 6 runners from the specialist Personal Injury team, raised £923 for the Spinal Unit by taking part in the Great Scottish Run which took place in Glasgow in 2010.
Elaine Russell, Personal Injury Partner in Glasgow comments: “We represent a number of clients with Spinal Cord injury and see the effect that this type of injury has on lives. The work the National Spinal Unit at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow do is outstanding and groundbreaking. The level of care that patients with the Unit receive is exceptional. We have a specialist team who deal with serious spinal cases and represent clients from all over Scotland and our clients have nothing but praise for the work of the Unit.”
The Unit has been managed by Margaret McKillop for over ten years. Elaine Russell and David Bell, who both work with clients who have spinal cord injuries, were given a tour of the Spinal Unit by Margaret and saw the work the Unit does on a daily basis and the terrific rehabilitation it carries out for patients and their families.
Margaret comments: “May I, on behalf of the whole Unit, thank you all at Irwin Mitchell for the extremely generous and welcomed donation. Donations are used to improve care for patients and preparation for going home with our Step Down Unit. I would like to thank everyone who took part in this fundraising activity.”
