Police Launch Investigation Into Incident
An investigation has been launched into a car crash in Glasgow which left one teenager dead and three others injured.
The Peugeot car that they were driving in hit a parked car before striking a wall as it travelled along the city’s Duntreath Avenue on Sunday morning (March 20th). It is thought that officers tried to stop the car moments before as its headlights were not on.
A 15-year-old male passenger died at the scene of the collision, while two girls also in the car suffered head injuries and are believed to be in a stable condition in hospital.
The 17-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries in hospital and has since been released. Police have appealed for witnesses.
David Bell, a serious injury specialist at Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office, said it was vital that answers were provided about the circumstances of the crash.
He explained: “The information released in relation to this incident is still sketchy, so it is clear that questions remain about the events which led to the collision with the wall.
“We regularly advise people who have seen their loved ones seriously or fatally injured in road traffic collisions and have seen the devastating impact such incidents can have on families.
“It is vital that lessons can be learnt from this case which will go some way to ensuring the same thing does not happen to anyone else.”
