Announcement Made At Office's Annual Dinner
The Leeds office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced ‘The Leeds Children’s Charity’ as its new charity of the year at its annual Chinese dinner.
The announcement took place at the annual dinner held at the Oriental City restaurant in Leeds where the fundraising for the year was kick-started with over £1,000 raised on the night.
Over 160 guests including solicitors, barristers, health and social care professionals and representatives from local charities attended the evening and enjoyed a 5-course dinner and entertainment by magician Mark Southworth.
Jane Wright, Head of Irwin Mitchell's Personal Injury team in Leeds said: “We bring together the charities and healthcare professionals we work with at the Chinese New year dinner to show our appreciation of the great support and care they provide to our clients year on year.
“The Leeds Children’s Charity is our new office charity of the year and we are pleased to have started the fundraising on such a good footing. Our staff are very supportive of the charities we get involved with and we are now looking forward to the fundraising events planned for 2011.”
Verlie McCann, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The Leeds Children’s Charity said: “We rely on support from local companies so that we can help more children each year. Fundraising can be a great way to bring staff together for a united goal, and demonstrates the positive impact businesses can have on the lives of children in our community. We are very excited about working with the Irwin Mitchell team over the coming year and we are very grateful to be their charity of the year.”
