Worker 'Crushed By Animal Feed'
A workplace injury expert at Irwin Mitchell has revealed her concerns over an industrial accident in Inverness which led to the death of a worker.
The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed it is investigating the case of 33-year-old Andrew Harrold from Ardross, who was killed in an incident at Harbro Ltd on Longman Industrial Estate on Saturday (February 5th).
Few details have been released into the event so far, but reports have suggested he died after he was crushed by a load of animal feed.
Northern Constabulary has sent a report to the procurator fiscal.
Elaine Russell, who specialises in accident at work claims at Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office, said: “We regularly deal with cases in which workers have been seriously or fatally injured and often see the devastating impact that such incidents can have on those involved and their families.
“While information related to this case is so far sketchy, it is vital that every effort is made to get to the bottom of what caused this fatal incident.
“The loved ones of the worker killed will undoubtedly want answers into events leading up to the death, while any details gathered on the case are likely to play a key role in ensuring no one else suffers in a similar manner.”
