Charity Celebrates 10th Anniversary
A lawyer from Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office has joined a number of organisations in celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
People from across the region have been paying tribute to the fantastic work which has been carried out by the charity over the past ten years, with special events organised to mark the milestone.
Fundraising has also taken place, including one event which saw 15-year-old Charlotte Leighton walk almost 20 miles. The youngster’s life was saved by the air ambulance and its crew, as they quickly got her to Leeds General Infirmary after she was hit by a car in 2006.
Discussing the landmark anniversary, associate solicitor Tessa Herman said: “The outpouring of good will which has been seen across the region is unsurprising considering the impact that the air ambulance has had on many lives in Yorkshire.
“The service has significantly improved the response to cases of serious injury and illness, meaning both young and old have been able to receive treatment as quickly as possible.
“Let’s hope that the air ambulance and its crew are able to continue its excellent life-saving work for many years to come.”
