Irwin Mitchell Represents Victim
The sentence given to a sales assistant who stabbed a colleague has been welcomed by lawyers at Irwin Mitchell who represent the victim.
Adrian Shaw of Middleton, Greater Manchester has been jailed for four years and eight months for attacking Tony Barnes, who worked together at House of Fraser in Deansgate when the incident took place in May.
Mr Barnes, 40, required treatment to five stab wounds after the assault, with the deepest being a 3cm cut to his neck which narrowly missed his spinal cord. Irwin Mitchell is helping him as he tries to rebuild his life following the traumatic and damaging ordeal.
Serious injury lawyer Keith Cundall, who represents the victim, said: “Tony has had to undergo counselling following what happened to him and it is likely that the physical and emotional scars will live with him for some time.
“It is welcome news that the perpetrator of this vicious attack – who, shockingly, was a colleague – has been sentenced to time in prison where he will be forced to confront the reality of his actions.
“Irwin Mitchell remains committed to helping Tony get the right support and rehabilitation he needs so he can continue his career in the fashion industry, despite the terrible experiences he has endured.”
