Workman Crushed To Death By Dumper Truck
A workman who was crushed to death when a dumper truck overturned at a building site has been named by police.
Marcel Daisley died in the accident yesterday at the site in Banbeath Road in Leven, Fife, where drinks company Diageo's new bottling hall is being built.
Police officers called to the scene at about 12.50pm tried to save the 37-year-old, who was known as Jason, but he died from his injuries. Mr Daisley was driving the dumper truck when it overturned.
Fife Constabulary launched an investigation yesterday.
A spokesman for the force said: "Mr Daisley is survived by his wife and two young children. He was born and brought up in Falkirk."A report was submitted today to the procurator fiscal at Kirkcaldy regarding his death."
A spokesman for construction firm Rok said in a statement yesterday: "Everyone at Rok would like to express deepest sympathy to the family of our colleague who died in this tragic accident.
"We have taken immediate steps to close the site and will be providing support to any member of the team affected by this sad news.
"We would like to thank the outstanding police officers who administered CPR.
"We will now be working with the police, procurator fiscal and Health and Safety Executive so the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident can be ascertained."

David Urpeth at law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "This was a horrific fatal accident at work. Whilst the circumstances are not yet fully known something clearly went very wrong. The construction industry is the industrial sector where a worker is most likely to be killed in a work accident."
