Head of Commercial Property, Kevin Docherty in Dragon's Den
Irwin Mitchell Head of Commercial Property, Kevin Docherty, tried his best to imitate Sir Alan Sugar recently when he took part in a Dragon's Den-style event organised by the University of Sheffield. The event pitted Sheffield school students aged between 12-14 against a panel of judges which included Kevin together with individuals from Capita and Yorkshire Bank.
The judges were most impressed by a group of 7 students from Firvale School, who successfully pitched their idea to promote healthy eating amongst school students. The Team proposed offering special 'healthy lunch boxes' to students, who would in turn be rewarded with a special badge for their choice. The Team also proposed a number of merchandise ideas in order to promote the scheme.
Kevin commented: "The enthusiasm and drive which all Teams showed during the event was commendable. The winning Team succeeded in combining a relevant and bright idea with achievable practical application. They thoroughly deserved the £500 prize."
