Police misconduct
Police footage of clashes during the G20 protests in London is being reviewed to find out if any further incidents need probing following the suspension of two officers.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson said the internal review at Scotland Yard would identify any matters that "warrant investigation" after trouble flared between demonstrators and police.
Government inspectors have also been called in to look into public order policing tactics such as the "kettling" of large groups for long periods of time.
These tactics, which have been criticised following the protests, will be reviewed by a team led by her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Denis O'Connor.
Following claims that two suspended territorial support group officers were not wearing display shoulder identification numbers, the Commissioner has announced these must always be worn.
While the territorial support group officer who is alleged to have slapped a protester during the G20 demo was suspended on Tuesday, the family of the victim said she has been left "traumatised".
Before this, another officer from the unit had already been suspended over the death of Ian Tomlinson, who died from a heart attack minutes after being hit with a baton and shoved to the ground.

"Whilst the police have a difficult job to do, they must always be aware of their powers and exercise them lawfully.

"Many people do not know who to turn to if they are treat badly by the police as it is normally the police they would turn to for help. I would urge anyone affected by these or other incidents to seek legal advice as soon as possible.
"Irwin Mitchell are experienced at dealing with actions against the police and will expertly yet sensitively guide you through the complaints and/or compensation procedures."
