Andrew Jones Pies factory explosion
A man has died and another is seriously ill in hospital after an explosion at a pie factory in West Yorkshire.
David Cole died after part of the roof at Andrew Jones Pies, in Old Leeds Road, Huddersfield, collapsed due to the blast, trapping the worker.
A 23-year-old, named locally as Marcus Cartwright, remains in a critical condition at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
The scene, a small distance from Huddersfield town centre, was attended by more than 40 firefighters - with crews coming from across West Yorkshire.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said Mr Cole, 37, from Halifax, was one of seven men working in the factory as the explosion occurred.
He said: "A 23-year-old man from the Crosland Moor area of Huddersfield who received serious injuries remains in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where his condition is critical but improving.
"Five other men working in the bakery at the time received minor injuries."
The incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

David Urpeth from law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "This was a tragic and fatal work accident. Whilst the circumstances of the accident at work are not fully known at this stage, something obviously went very wrong leading to a terrible and fatal explosion."
Mr Urpeth represented over 75 workers and many residents who were injured in the 2001 blast at the Killingholme refinery when over 170 tonnes of liquid petroleum gas caught fire. Conoco-Phillips, who owned the plant, was eventually fined £1m for breaching health and safety regulations after the explosion at its Humber refinery
