Armed forces injury team sponsor awards
Zoe Sutton and Andrew Buckham from IM's Armed Forces injury team were guests at Aldershot Garrison in January as part of the SSAFA (Soldier, Sailors Airmen and Families Association) Annual Welfare Volunteer Awards launch. The 2008 awards will be presented by HRH Prince Michael of Kent at a summer ceremony.
The awards are being sponsored by IM and AIG who underwrite the PAX Personal Accident Insurance scheme which has over 54,000 Armed Forces members. This is the second year that the firm have sponsored the awards and children from local military families came along to offer their support.
IM are the appointed legal representatives under the PAX scheme which also provides the benefit of Legal Expenses Insurance for it's members who wish to pursue a claim for compensation having been injured on or off duty.
SSAFA have over 53 welfare volunteer branches in the UK and around the world supporting members of the British Armed Forces and their families. Their volunteers deal with a wide range of problems and issues from helping injured service personnel to supporting local initiatives that benefit the serving military community. The awards are a chance for the service community to show their appreciation to volunteers who have shown exceptional dedication or innovation in their duties and nominations can be made by anyone.
