Child accident
An inquest jury has returned a verdict of accidental death resulting from neglect, following a three day hearing into the death of 3-year-old Warwickshire toddler, Abby Rae.
Abigail Rae was discovered, drowned, in the pond of a neighbouring house in Lower Brailes, on 28 November 2002 after staff at the Ready, Teddy, Go Nursery discovered she was missing.

The family's solicitor, Rebecca Hearsey from the Birmingham office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, said: Victoria and Justin Rae are relieved that finally, after more than 3 years, events on the day, as well as policies and procedures at the nursery (in particular the failure to undertake a risk assessment after being advised by OFSTED in July 2002 that it was a requirement) have been given full consideration in open court.
They welcome today's verdict and hope that this may present an opportunity for those who have responsibility and care for pre-school children to carefully examine their policies and procedures.
Information presented at the inquest can now be considered in relation to the civil action being pursued on behalf of Mr & Mrs Rae.
