Irwin Mitchell’s public liability team have helped a 52-year-old Essex man claim over £4,300 in compensation, after he fractured his ankle because of unlevelled paving.
Ken was helping his student son move to new accommodation in Stafford. As he stepped into the rear garden of the property through the back door, his left ankle gave way and he fell to the ground in excruciating pain. Ken fractured his left ankle and required physiotherapy treatment. He was out of work for five months.
Kay Bailey, a solicitor based in our Sheffield offices, worked on the case and through further investigation, she discovered that the paving in the rear garden was unlevel and this was the cause of Ken’s injury.
The property owner admitted he was at fault and our client received over £4,300 in compensation for the pain and suffering caused.
