Irwin Mitchell's specialist personal injury team has secured compensation for a van driver who suffered a crushed finger in an accident at work.
Our client's job involved transporting printers to new premises. Whilst he was lifting a large printer his right index finger was crushed between the printer and the wooden flooring and as a result he suffered an injury.
He attended the local NHS walk-in-centre before attending the accident and emergency department in Sheffield. He was seen there on two occasions and was referred to the fracture clinic where his injury was reviewed. As a result of the accident our client sustained a crush injury to the tip of his right index finger, fracturing the bone and requiring the pulp of his finger to have stitches.
It took six weeks before all the significant pain and discomfort settled, however, the tip of his finger remained sensitive for up to three months. Our client has been left with a two centimetre scar on his finger.
The specialist team at Irwin Mitchell's Sheffield office secured more than £6,500 in compensation for our client.
If you've suffered a serious broken or fractured bone injury at work, our specialist serious injury claims team could help you to claim compensation. See our Fracture Claims page or Accidents At Work Claims page for more information.
