How Our Lawyers Can Help

We have a strong network of best friend law firms in India, other South Asian countries and globally. This network offers businesses looking to invest in India or South Asia access to a group of top tier lawyers/law firms in the major cities of India, as well as Bangladesh and Pakistan.

If you’re a South Asian company who wants to invest in the UK or in other countries outside South Asia, we have the expertise within our UK offices or via our international network to deliver commercial, cross-border advice. This means you won’t have to deal with separate local lawyers for each jurisdiction.

We’ve represented major clients on India-related matters from a range of sectors, including:

  • Banking
  • Outsourcing
  • Manufacturing
  • Engineering
  • Facilities management
  • New technology

Members of our India and South Asia Group visit India on a regular basis, meeting clients, intermediaries and businesses with operations in India. A number of lawyers within the firm are fluent in many of the commonly spoken languages in South Asia.

We’re also corporate members of the UK India Business Council (UKIBC). UKIBC is a key partner for us in helping our UK clients to achieve their aspirations in India, as well as supporting Indian businesses in their goals for working with the UK.

Key Deals Include:

  • Advising WNS on the acquisition of Aviva’s off-shore infrastructure operations, established on a build, operate and transfer basis comprising almost 6,000 employees, located in three regions of India and having a value of c.US$ 200m.
  • Acting on joint ventures between UK and Indian businesses, including the following sectors: automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
