The Andrew Lockley Public Law Essay Competition is now closed. The winner will be contacted by Monday 14 November.
If you’re an aspiring Public Law and Human Rights (PLHR) solicitor, our competition will give you the chance to win a £200 Blackwell’s gift card. It’ll also raise your profile, which could help kick-start your career in law.
Our PLHR team is looking to hear from law students, graduates, paralegals and trainee solicitors with an interest in, and who are thinking of specialising in public law.
Andrew Lockley was the first head of our PLHR team, and led this work for over 10 years. In his honour, we’re asking entrants to submit an essay based on the proposed changes to judicial review remedies.
Your essay should consider:
Following withdrawal of the Bill of Rights by Liz Truss’ government, it’s widely believed that future reform of the Human Rights Act 1998 is still on the agenda. Please set out the pros and cons of reform, drawing on key provisions that had been intended for the former draft Bill of Rights.
