Robert Kenyon



Robert leads our Commercial Litigation team in the South and has considerable experience advising across a wide range of industry areas on all aspects of commercial dispute resolution: including litigation, arbitration and mediation - in particular in relation to commercial contracts - professional negligence, banking and insurance, disputes between shareholders and directors, and disputes arising from corporate transactions.  Robert also deals with court-approved corporate schemes.

He qualified as a solicitor in 2002.

Recent highlights

  • Conducting various cases concerning the supply of goods and/or services and the termination of commercial contractual arrangements.  Recent examples include advising a food manufacture on quality issues in its supply chain, a car dealership on the early termination of a supplier contract, a funding platform in relation to software and related services, and a logistics business on issues with the quality of service provided to it by its insolvent supplier.
  • Advising a parent company on issues arising under a guarantee of the obligations of its subsidiary in an overseas construction project, with parallel English litigation and overseas arbitration.
  • Advising an off-shore company in a dispute involving multi-jurisdictional insolvency issues. 
  • Acting for an overseas private bank in court proceedings concerning contractual and regulatory aspects of a claim against it for payment of historical funds.
  • Advising on a multi-party dispute relating to the rectification of a pension scheme leading to the approval of a court-sanctioned compromise.
  • Advising an individual director/shareholder on claims of professional negligence against his accountants in the context of the sale of his business.
  • Acting for a bank on claims of professional negligence against surveyors in the context of the compulsory purchase of the bank’s premises.
  • Conducting various cases in which individual directors/shareholders seek an exit strategy, and advising on the claims arising between the directors, the shareholders and their companies.
  • Advising on cases in which the purchaser of a business has made claims against the seller for breaches of the warranty provisions.
