Biography
I am a Trainee Solicitor in our Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell. I have worked at Irwin Mitchell for approximately 6 and a half years now; with 5 and a half years in our Serious Injury teams.
Initially when I started at Irwin Mitchell, I worked as a Paralegal in our Serious Injury team in Sheffield. I predominately dealt with adult brain injuries and spinal injuries.
I then went on in August 2021 to begin my training contract. As part of my training contract I have rotated our Court of Protection department, our Medical Negligence department and our Serious Injury department.
I am now based in our Serious Injury team in Leeds, dealing with neurotrauma injuries (including adult/child brain injuries and spinal injuries).
I am on course to qualify as a Solicitor in August 2023.
What inspired you to get into law?
I fell into law as a result of being interested in History at secondary school and I have never looked back!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I get satisfaction by helping clients to achieve their goals, whether through organising rehabilitation or through obtaining financial settlements for their future. It really is rewarding spending time with our clients over years and watching them progress and rebuild their independence following a traumatic injury.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
One of the best things about working at Irwin Mitchell is the diversity of cases that we see and work on. We get great experience and exposure working with clients from all different backgrounds that have been through lots of different accidents. This in turn gives us a great wealth of knowledge to help more clients effectively. I also couldn’t go without mentioning my amazing colleagues - they definitely make the day to day really easy.
What do you do away from the office?
I wish I could say something interesting but my main hobbies include attending the gym (when I have the energy!) or shopping. You can’t beat a bit of retail therapy!
