Biography
I'm a solicitor working in our Lifestyle & Estate Planning team. My role includes advising on wills and succession planning, inheritance tax, lifetime tax planning, powers of attorney, trusts and administration of estates.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The people. There is such a supportive and caring environment amongst peers, and I have made some friends for life.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I strive to build my clients' trust and to feel like I've made a positive difference to their individual and family lives.
What inspired you to get into law?
I studied history for my undergraduate but found myself writing my dissertation on the history of a high profile legal case, which sparked my interest in law. This, combined with my passion for meeting new people and building trusting relationships, led me to choosing a career in which I can work with clients on a daily basis and assist them at potentially difficult times.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work I am a keen runner and hiker. I particularly love going back to my family home in Scotland to tackle 'Munros' with my dad. I also enjoy travelling, dancing and my ideal Sunday would be curled up on the sofa with a book.
