Biography
I am a Paralegal in the Birmingham office’s Workplace Illness department. I work almost exclusively on benign asbestos-related illness claims, most notably the conditions asbestosis and pleural thickening.
I run cases through the initial investigations step of the claim, progressing cases through to potential litigation.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was first interested in pursuing a career in law because it is a very varied and complicated profession, with lots of scope for further improvement and specialisation.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role by far is being able to make a difference to the lives of those suffering from the effects of asbestos, as well as the lives of their loved ones. Due to the area of expertise, we find most of our clients at a very difficult time in their life, and it is very rewarding to provide some support and advice during this time.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell has a very accepting and welcoming working environment. It is a place where employees are encouraged to do their best work in the context of a supportive work team.
What do you do away from the office?
When not at work I love music and I sing in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra chorus. We sing some amazing works in very exciting locations, and I have met some of my best friends in choirs over the years.
