I’m an associate solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in our Newcastle office. I’m also a senior litigator for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
I represent clients in a range of clinical negligence claims including:
- Delay in diagnosis of cancer
- Orthopaedic claims
- Surgical claims
- Birth injury
- Brain and spinal injury
- Fatal claims.
What inspired you to get into law?
I studied law at A Level and went on to complete a law degree at University. I particularly enjoy the challenging mix between medicine and the law which makes my role as a medical negligence solicitor ideal.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Making a difference in the lives of my clients and their families. I cannot change the distress and trauma which many clients go through, but I can do my best to get the answers they need and the assistance they require for the future.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
We have a great, friendly, caring team in Newcastle with a wealth of experience and knowledge. We are also a large, national firm which allows me to get advice for clients in other areas of law when needed.
What do you do away from the office?
I love travelling and relaxing with family and friends. I am a Boccia leader and enjoy helping with local groups.
“I would highly recommend Irwin Mitchell’s Jennifer Craven . . . It emerged I had a very complex case, which took quite a long time, a lot of work by Jennifer . . . It was overwhelming at times . . . however Jennifer took time to talk to me and email regularly, keeping me up to date, setting my expectations realistically and making me feel at ease, giving me the confidence to continue . . . I couldn’t recommend Jennifer enough, she gave me a very professional but also personal service and we achieved an outcome I never had imagined.” - Mrs CS, former client
