Biography
I am a Family Law Associate Solicitor and I work as part of the national team, with particular links to South Coast and surrounding areas (with offices in Southampton, Chichester and Gatwick).
I advise on all aspects of family life following the breakdown of a relationship, including on divorce, financial settlements, the child arrangements, cohabitation separation and issues surrounding domestic violence. I also help with other matters, such as advising about post- and pre-nuptial agreements as well as cohabitation agreements.
Previously, I worked for four years with a boutique family law firm in Surrey, where I qualified as a Family Law Solicitor in 2016 before I joined Irwin Mitchell at the end of 2017. In that time, I’ve gained experience in a wide range of cases, ranging from high net worth divorce cases to contested children matters.
My priority is always to help my clients meet their objectives with a clear understanding of the options and paths available to them. Each case is different and I strive to offer strategic support to each client that I work with.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
Ever since I remember I have always wanted to practice law. I can’t think of any other job that I would enjoy as much. My interest in family law awakened at University, when I chose the subject as one of my modules.
Family law felt like a natural choice for me and I continue to love what I do. I enjoy the complex legal nature of work and the ability to give a human touch by making a positive difference in someone’s life when they are at their most vulnerable. I also like the opportunity to work with varied and diverse groups of clients by offering practical, pragmatic and personal advice.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
I enjoy the dual and ever-varied aspect of my role. I engage in providing technical expertise, which is intellectually challenging and constantly evolving, but I also help the clients on a personal level by building strong relationships. Often my role as a solicitor goes beyond a mere legal expert and requires understanding, empathy and at times ability just to make someone smile.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I enjoy the vast wealth of experience and resources that are on offer at Irwin Mitchell. This benefits the clients in cases that involve multiple areas of law.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
Away from the office, I spend as much time as I can with my family and closest friends. In between that time, I do enjoy a good detective book or a TV series while curled up on the sofa with our rescue cats Boris and Gary. When I run out of excuses, I go to the gym or in the warmer months for a run near the sea front. Throughout my life I always lived near the sea, which I love, so I try to regularly spend time close to water.
