I am a solicitor working in the Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell's Newcastle office. Since 2004 I have represented adults and children who have suffered serious and life changing injuries, in particular head injuries and spinal cord injuries.
I aim to secure interim payments for my clients at the earliest possible opportunity to provide payment for rehabilitation, support packages and accommodation.

"Irwin Mitchell were excellent in sorting out my case. I was looked after every step of the way. My solicitors, Jane Pyrah and Laura McIlduff along with their litigation assistant Lee Simpson, were always up front and honest and kept me informed every step of the way. My interests were always a priority and no question from myself was to trivial for them. What they have done for me will change my life completely by giving me the opportunity to pursue things I thought I wouldn't be able to. Mainly though they made my recovery paramount and I now have access to any of the care I may require in the future. Put simply, they're the best. I cannot recommend them highly enough."- 5* Trustpilot review
"Initially we were assigned Fran who straight away was kind, compassionate, reassuring and full of empathy to what we were going through. Fran then went on maternity and Jayne Pyrah took over. The same level of professionalism along with a caring personal touch was received. Even Lee Simpson their PA who i spoke to and emailed regularly was a delight to talk to and very kind.
The whole firm over the last 5 years , has essentially been our rock and safety blanket. They have helped us all as a family to get through this horrific time , ensuring that our son got all the physio, OT input, psychology support he required. Ensuring the people hired like his case managers and all other professionals understood Nathans needs . We truly couldn't have coped without them. Words will NEVER ever express how amazing they all were. They went above and beyond. We will be "forever grateful". Thankyou so much to each and everyone of you who we had the pleasure of meeting."- 5* Trustpilot review
"From the outset they instilled confidence in me having made the right choice for choosing them to represent my son. My sincere thanks and appreciation go to Jane Pyrah, Tom Dias, Kate Nicklin, Paul Rose QC, Greg Phillips (COP). During this long and complicated case I was constantly updated with developments as and when they occurred, and indeed, I was also pre updated about future developments. My son's case is now in it's final stage of conclusion having reached a satisfactory settlement. I have nothing but praise for all who were involved in the handling of my son's claim."- 5* Trustpilot review
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I decided at quite an early age that I wanted to take up a career in Law, as I wanted to make a difference to people's lives. However, I enjoyed History so much at school that I decided to study a History degree at university instead of Law. I knew that there was an option to convert my History degree to Law and so that is what I did.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
It is very rewarding to be able to help my clients to improve the quality of their lives. For nearly 10 years I have worked as part of a team who are dedicated to their clients, are very passionate about securing the best outcome for their clients and who have a fantastic track record.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
We are lucky to have access to specialists in other areas of law such as Family Law, Public Law, Court of Protection and Employment Law who we can approach for advice and support for our clients.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
Away from the office I enjoy spending time with my family and I spend a lot of time taking my very big dog for very long walks!
