I'm a Solicitor in the Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team in Sheffield. I started my training contract at Irwin Mitchell in 2016 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2018.
I have experience with different types of disputes including validity of wills, claims for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act, and disputes between beneficiaries and executors.
I provide clear, practical and logical legal advice to help people resolve their disputes as quickly as possible.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
After completing my history degree, a career in the law was not guaranteed to be the next step. When considering my career options, I managed to obtain legal work experience and thoroughly enjoyed the diverse nature of the work and how no two days were the same. This kickstarted my interest and here we are!
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
When clients really appreciate the time and effort you put in to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I am an active individual and a competitive sportsman. I have played hockey since the age of 7 and I currently play in the National League for Doncaster. I also enjoy long distance running and playing football for Irwin Mitchell every Tuesday evening. Away from sport, I enjoy socialising with friends, eating out (especially curry), and travelling.
"A real credit to the legal profession and I would have no hesitation in recommending [James]" - Client
"Fantastic service from start to finish. Was always able to speak to the people managing my case promptly felt reassured by the advice given at every stage. Bills were nicely itemised so I knew exactly what I was paying for. I would certainly use Irwin Mitchell again in the future (although I hope I don't have to!) and would happily recommend them to anyone who asks. Huge thanks again to James and Carla for all the work they've done." - 5* Trustpilot review
"I won my case to my surprise and it has taken me this long to come out of shock. I will never forget one particular person , James .. he had to tell me that my mum had died without me actually been told or knowing about it. It was distressing for us both but I am really grateful for his help. He went above and beyond to help me find out details about my mum’s death that was being kept from me by her husband. This helped me find some peace which was really important for me to carry on with my case." -5* Trustpilot review
"My mother recently went through a very painful and lengthy court procedure. James Wright made her feel comfortable and helped her along every step of the process. My mother has been restored back to herself again after a long and painful year, all thanks to James. Thank you so much for all you have done for my Mum, we fully appreciate it."- 5* Trustpilot review
