I am a Solicitor working in the Medical Negligence team and help people with a wide variety of medical law matters. This mostly involves clinical negligence claims against GPs, NHS Trusts, and private healthcare providers.
I act for clients of all ages and backgrounds, with all types of clinical negligence claims, including those involving:
- Negligent surgery
- Delayed or incorrect diagnoses
- Mismanagement of medical conditions
- Consent issues.
I trained with Irwin Mitchell and so also have considerable experience of assisting colleagues with very complex and high-value claims.
What inspired you to get into law?
I've always had an analytical mind and enjoy evaluating evidence to critique arguments and construct my own. I was always told I was good at arguing my case!
Once I started my Law degree, there was no doubt in my mind that this was the career for me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I've always enjoyed helping people. When clients come to us, they're often confused and intimidated and I really enjoy guiding them through their claim and putting them at ease.
It's extremely rewarding to send clients away when their claim succeeds, knowing that the result has made a real and substantial difference to their life.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
We're at the forefront of clinical negligence practice nationally and it's inspiring to know that I'm working with the best lawyers in the field every day. This also encourages me to be the best that I can be and achieve the very best results for our clients.
What do you do away from the office?
I love to travel, so I’m generally planning (or fantasising about) my next trip!
