Biography
I have many years of experience as a Financial Advisor and prior to starting at Irwin Mitchell in 2022 worked at an accountancy firm, an independent financial adviser and an asset manager, among others. I have significant experience with a wide variety of financial planning subjects, including cash flow forecasting, pensions analysis (including international pensions), and structuring holdings for tax efficiency. Over the years, I’ve followed the Personal Finance Society development path and have attained Chartered Financial Planner status and I’m also a Provisional Member of the Expert Witness Institute. I have developed a reputation as a bit of a pensions geek, and love nothing more than a new technical challenge – better still if it leads to a good solution for my clients.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
The greatest enjoyment I have ever had from my role comes from helping clients to achieve goals, some of which they thought were impossible. Although the circumstances were less than ideal, my proudest moment in my career was being able to help a client obtain an award from the Financial Ombudsman Service against a firm that had mismanaged his retirement savings. In his words, I had “saved his retirement”, and that was an amazing feeling.
