I advise on UK tax and asset structuring for international clients looking to relocate to or exit from the UK, set up or invest in UK businesses or invest in UK property. I act for entrepreneurs, individuals, companies, private banks, family offices, non-UK law firms and trust companies, with a particular focus on Francophone Europe and Africa, especially Mauritius.
Before qualifying as a solicitor, I worked in shipping protection and indemnity, handling shipping claims such as oil slicks, injury, cargo claims and sinking. I then moved on to legal roles in shipping finance and maritime intelligence, which took me to other jurisdictions including Africa and France. I used my commercial law background as a good base to move into personal tax and trusts law.
I sit as a mentor on the French Chamber of Commerce’s entrepreneur mentoring scheme and am an active participant of La French Tech platform.
I am also bilingual in English and French; with Melanie Stancliffe, I head up the firm's French Team. I also have a good working knowledge of Greek.
