Biography
I am an Associate Solicitor in the Public Law & Human Rights team in Sheffield. I specialise in community care, healthcare, medical treatment, disability discrimination and human rights. I also specialise in Court of Protection/mental capacity cases.
I advise clients of their rights in relation to care packages, medical treatment and healthcare, personal health budgets and other clinical disputes which might raise issues of dignity or the right to life. I also represent children through their parents who act as litigation friends in respect of healthcare or social care entitlement.
I am regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor and Independent Mental Capacity Advocates to act on behalf of vulnerable people who lack mental capacity in relation to health and welfare matters, deprivations of liberty and contact/residence disputes.
In February 2021, I was featured as 'Lawyer in the News' by the Law Gazette after advising charity Birthrights about patient rights during antenatal scans.
