Biography
I'm a senior paralegal in the serious injury team in Cambridge. I help a number of clients who've sustained life-changing injuries. As well as running my own cases, I also support senior colleagues in their cases involving traumatic brain injury and amputation.
What inspired you to get into law?
I like to help people and I believe a career within the legal sector lets me do this.
I chose to follow a career specifically within personal injury as you can really see the difference you can make to your client’s life. This includes both the compensation they receive but also through the support and assistance you have in their rehabilitation journey to recovery.
I enjoy connecting with my clients and forming a solid relationship with them throughout their claim.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is seeing the difference I can make to my client’s life after sustaining life-changing injuries. It's lovely to feel involved in their journey to recovery when they receive the compensation they deserve.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Working at Irwin Mitchell is extremely rewarding and the firm culture is brilliant. I've felt part of a team from the minute I walked through the door. There are endless extra curricular activities to get involved with and the office morale has always been so welcoming and fun!
What do you do away from the office?
I like to travel as much as I can, exploring new countries and reliving past times. I have dual UK and USA nationality and like to spend time visiting family and friends in New Jersey where I spent my childhood. I also enjoy amateur dramatics, performing a couple times a year in various productions.
Failing this, you will find me socialising with friends or shopping!
Testimonials
"I was involved in a RTA 4 years ago and was put in contact with Irwin Mitchell. From start to finish they have been brilliant. My case was originally handled by Asiya Yousaf, who then handed the case over to Emma McCreath when she went on maternity leave. Both showed compassion and professionalism though out the case.
Emma.. helped prepare my witness statements and prepare the case for court. She stayed in contact with me throughout and has managed to agree a settlement I am very happy with. I would not have been able to achieve this without the hard work you have undoubtedly done on my behalf. Thank you to anyone who has worked on this case, and to anyone thinking of using Irwin Mitchell in the future I would recommend!” - 5* Trustpilot review
"Throughout the last two years Emma McCreath have supported myself and guided me through the complicated business of our legal system. I would not hesitate to use Irwin Mitchell again but hopefully this will not be necessary. A well organised professional team that kept myself informed every step of the way!" - 5* Trustpilot review
"Emma McCreath in the Cambridge SI team was absolutely amazing! She was very helpful in helping me receive my claim and helped answer all of my queries. She was very fast with her responses and made the communication very easy and simple!" - 5* Trustpilot review
"Received the most amazing service after a serious injury [road traffic collision], that left me hospitalised with no memory of the accident and unable to work for 6 months. Irwin Mitchell especially Emma McCreath and Ruth Booy were amazing from start to finish. [They] gave a real personal, caring and reassuring service during the difficult times, especially when I could not give them any information regarding the RTC. They took all the stress out of making a claim and worked tirelessly behind the scenes without causing me any extra stress to get an admission of liability from the other party very successful higher than expected settlement from a very complex case all during COVID restrictions. Would defiantly recommend them." – 5* Trustpilot review
