I joined Irwin Mitchell in 2016 and work as a solicitor in our asbestos related disease team in Manchester. I specialise in securing compensation for people who have been exposed to asbestos at work and gone on to develop asbestos-related illnesses specifically mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, asbestosis and diffuse pleural thickening.
I have 6 years’ experience handling occupational illness claims, exclusively working for people who have become injured as a result of their work.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I became a solicitor because I wanted a challenging career that allowed me to work closely with people and make a positive difference to their lives.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is working for my wonderful clients whose positivity and determination in the face of adversity inspire me every day to fight as hard as I can for them. A successful outcome for my clients usually means that they and their families do not have to worry about money anymore and they can focus on themselves and their loved ones.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I work in a close-knit team of dedicated and thoughtful colleagues, which enables me to provide my clients with the best quality of care.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
My hobbies include playing and watching football and golf, rock climbing, hiking and cycling. If something involves being active, I will be up for it. In recent years, I have run the Great North Run and hiked the National 3 Peaks and the Yorkshire 3 Peaks for various charities.
In July 2017, I was part of an intrepid team who played 4 rounds of golf in a day, raising money for Mesothelioma UK.
