Biography
I am a solicitor in the residential property team carrying out property work for private banks and also for individuals. I have been carrying out residential property work since 2010. Before that I was a family lawyer for around ten years, specialising in divorce and cohabitation disputes.
I help clients with:
- Sales
- Purchases
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of Property
- Secured Lending
- Equity Release
- Complex title transactions
- Registration of rights or easements.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2000.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
In my younger days, I was very concerned with environmental issues and initially studied law with an intention to become an environmental lawyer. However, I really enjoyed the challenge of family law and decided to initially work in that area. As I settled down and had children, I moved to residential property law which is a challenging but rewarding area to work in.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
I enjoy the secured lending work and the relationship that is built up with the banks that we work with. There is also something so lovely about helping people buy the home of their dreams, particularly for first time buyers.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
We have a great team, both in the Newbury office and nationally. There is very much a feeling of “one Irwin Mitchell” and the team are both fun and supportive.
What do you do away from the office?
I am kept very busy with my 3 gorgeous but lively children! We love music. They are amazing singers and we hold regular karaoke nights at home. I run around after my middle child who sings in a rock band. I am learning ukulele but am not very good!
I love wildlife and the countryside. We are members of RSPB and a local wildlife charity and get out as much as we can at the weekends.
