Biography
I’m a Solicitor in the medical negligence and abuse litigation team in the Birmingham office.
I mainly work with people who’ve suffered an injury because of medical negligence from NHS hospitals, GPs and private practitioners.
My work varies, but tends to involve orthopaedic injuries, delays in diagnosis of cancer, surgical errors and claims resulting in death. I also have experience of claims involving spinal and brain injuries.
I represent children and vulnerable adults who’ve experienced abuse and neglect. I act for clients in cases against Local Authorities and Care Homes.
What inspired you to get into law?
I decided to pursue a career in law at a very young age because I’ve always had a strong sense of justice and fairness. I also wanted to make a difference to people’s lives, so a career in law felt like the perfect fit for me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Many of our clients have suffered life-changing injuries. Being able to secure them an award of damages to help them regain their independence or improve their quality of life is the most rewarding part of my role.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
It’s a privilege to work alongside some of the most respected and dedicated lawyers in the country. We’re a very close-knit team and everyone is very supportive of one another. We all want the best for our clients and for each other.
What do you do away from the office?
I’m very fortunate to have roots in the Lake District, so at the weekend you will usually find me in the hills.
