I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence Team in Southampton, having just completed my training contract with the Firm, and prior to that having been a paralegal in the team for 2 years.
I have a varied caseload, and assist the senior members of the team with their cases, which include both adult and paediatric brain injury, as well as delay in diagnosis of cancer and surgical error.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2019.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I have always enjoyed logical reasoning problems. Working in the legal profession, specifically litigation, has allowed me to learn how to build a case; developing skills of logical reasoning.
It is a career which I find challenging, but enjoy rising to that challenge on a daily basis.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The clients that I get to work for and assist. It makes me happiest when I can get the client some answers, even if it is not always possible to bring a clients claim to a successful conclusion, we can almost always provide some answers about what happened, and give them some closure.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
Despite being a firm with nationwide reach, I believe, that we are able to provide a tailored and unique service to each client, to meet their needs.
There is also a wealth of experience within the firm that can be called upon at any time, and it is great being able to work with such an impressive group of people.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I am quite active. I cycle to work, play netball, sing in a choir and am part of a book club. I love travelling, whether that be at home or abroad, and going to as many festivals as I can!
