Associate Kate Harris Joins From Hewitsons
Irwin Mitchell has recruited a new associate solicitor to its London office’s Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team.
Recruited from Hewitsons Solicitors in Cambridge, associate Kate Harris specialises as a will and trust disputes lawyer with a background in property litigation. She is well-versed in handling matters such as Inheritance Act claims, breach of trust cases and contentious Court of Protection applications among others.
As a testament to her expertise, Kate is recognised as a Next Generation Lawyer in the Legal 500 guide which describes her as “efficient, knowledgeable and with a keen appreciation of an individual client’s problems in this difficult area of the law” in its latest edition.
Kate is also an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and a member of the Property Litigation Association (PLA).
She joins a thriving will, trust and estate disputes team headed by partner Claire-Marie Cornford, who joined the firm from Mishcon de Reya in November 2017. Since her arrival the team has grown significantly, recruiting two more solicitors since. The London team works closely with the rest of the national Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team, which is one of the largest in the country.
Expert Opinion“We are all delighted that Kate has joined the team. Her property litigation background combined with her experience in contentious trust and probate matters will be a huge asset to our work.
“Kate’s links with the East Anglia private client market and Irwin Mitchell’s office in Cambridge are also something we’re looking forward to developing to widen our national reach and reach a new client base.
“Our London team is steadily growing in size, experience and excellence; we intend to become one of the best litigation teams in London and Kate’s appointment helps us with our journey.
“Kate’s arrival will strengthen both the London and national teams.” Claire-Marie Cornford - Partner
