National law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced a major new corporate partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO).
The initiative, being led by the law firm’s Birmingham Office, will see the two working together in areas of mutual concern, including the commitment of both parties to community work in addition to business and client engagement.
The sponsorship represents a unique opportunity for Irwin Mitchell to engage with an internationally-renowned organisation that shares the firm’s passion for community outreach projects, while supporting the important work of CBSO in its centenary year in 2020.
The CBSO gives 150 performances each year at Symphony Hall, Birmingham and worldwide. The first concert was conducted by Sir Edward Elgar in 1920, and since Sir Simon Rattle’s time as Music Director (1980-98) it has been admired as one of the world’s finest and most innovative orchestras. Today, its world-class excellence is coupled with a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion. The CBSO’s pioneering education and community programmes enrich lives through music across the region – and with renowned conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla at the helm it is one of the few orchestras in the world to have a female music director.
