A mum-of-two who suffered life-changing injuries after a car smashed into hers at high-speed on a busy roundabout and propelled her into the air has spoken of her relief after expert serious injury lawyers secured interim payments for her on going care.
Teresa Weedon, from Narborough in Leicester, was driving home after a family barbecue with her husband on 31 August 2013 when another car crashed into hers at as police estimated as 70mph on a roundabout. She was cut out of the wreckage and rushed to Coventry Hospital by paramedics where she remained for a month for treatment for a fractured spine and shattered pelvis.
The 53-year-old instructed expert serious injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell to investigate her case and he has now received an interim payment from the motorist’s insurers to help fund her rehabilitation treatment, despite a denial of liability. The firm are now working towards securing a settlement for Teresa to cover her loss of earnings and costs of her continuing treatment.
Teresa was unable to work as a receptionist at a dental practice for months after the car crash as a result of the horrendous injuries she suffered, including shattered pelvis, fractured spine vertebrae, cuts and bruises on her head. She has now returned to work on a phased return.
The driver Nathan Cox was given a £1,500 fine,10 points on his/her license and a nine-month driving ban on 14th May 2014 after being found guilty of driving without due care and attention.

It took me a long time to be able to get back into the car and drive again, as I was terrified that something else might happen. I don’t think I could have got through this without the help and support of my family and friends – they have been fantastic.
