Irwin Mitchell Sponsors UWE Law Society

Funds Support Law Society's Aim To Increase Students' Employability

Irwin Mitchell Bristol is sponsoring the University of West England Law Society with funds being put towards the design and production of UWE Law society membership cards and UWE Law Society hoodies available to members.

The Law Society helps students on their quest to secure a Training Contract and from March through to May will be running a series of events, with help from Irwin Mitchell, designed to improve students’ understanding and experience of the Training Contract selection process.
It also aims to enable students to think how they could better their applications through work experience and pro bono work.

National law firm Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office also supports UWE through a variety of training and work placements for law students, helping them to get ahead in the legal industry.

Anusheh Ahmadi, a serious injury expert at Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office, said: "The Law Society provides immense support to law students, helping them build the foundations for a successful career in law. I myself studied for both my law degree and Legal Practice Course at UWE so was delighted to come back to the campus and meet Harriett and Nick.

“I hope the support Irwin Mitchell has given the Law Society will help them continue their good their work  developing the lawyers of the future.”

Charlotte Mapston, President of the UWE Law Division, said: "Sponsorship from Irwin Mitchell has been fundamental to the growth of UWE Law Society. This has been the society’s first operational year and sponsorship has enabled us to fund our new website which provides careers advice to students, produce membership cards and hoodies to increase the visibility of our brand.

"The society aims to bring students from UWE’s wide ranging law courses together in social and careers events which are designed to increase students’ employability. Funding is vital to ensure we can attract members and educate them about the current market, and what they need to be doing to in order to progress with their legal careers. "
