Irwin Mitchell Provide A Real Hoot For Children This Summer

Come And See The Blunderbus Theatre Company At Irwin Mitchell

Parents and carers of children with disabilities looking for the perfect way to keep youngsters entertained this summer are invited to see a classic children’s story brought to life by the Blunderbus Theatre Company.

Internationally acclaimed musicians, actors and puppeteers from the theatre troupe will bring their magical production of The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark to law firm Irwin Mitchell, based at Wellington Place in Leeds, on Sunday 12 August 2012.

The play is based on the popular children’s book by author Jill Tomlinson and tells the tale of Plop, a baby barn owl who conquers his fear of the dark.

The Irwin Mitchell Leeds office is sponsoring the event, run in conjunction with the local Little Hiccups and SNAPS charities, which are run by parents and carers of children with special needs and disabilities.

More than 60 parents and children who benefit from the work of both charities are expected to attend the fun-filled show.

Rachelle Mahapatra, a partner and medical law specialist at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds, said: “We do so much work helping parents to access treatment and rehabilitation for their children after an accident or injury so they can get their lives back on track.

“A big part of that is doing the normal everyday things we often take for granted, such as going to the theatre and having fun. We are really looking forward to transforming our boardrooms into a magical theatre for this event and hope this uplifting story inspires the children who come along.”

The event begins at 11am in the Irwin Mitchell board rooms with music and playtime until lunch at noon. The Blunderbus Theatre Company will perform at 1pm. Tickets cost £2.50 per person, which includes the cost of the show, lunch, a goody bag and a copy of the book. Tickets can still be bought at Irwin Mitchell for the event but must be reserved in advance. Email Linsay Medica of Little Hiccups on Linsay@littlehiccups.co.uk.
