Eight People In Total Hurt In Incident

Two women are in hospital in Birmingham after they suffered serious injuries in a three-car crash in the city’s centre, with six others also hurt.

Emergency services were called to the Aston Express Way on Saturday evening (November 19th), with five ambulances heading to the scene close to the M6 junction on the road.

According to a spokesman, the two women – who were both in the first car involved in the collision – suffered chest and abdominal injuries and head and pelvic injuries respectively. They were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the city.

Other people injured in the road traffic accident were taken to Heartlands Hospital and City Hospital for treatment on fractures and other injuries.

Stephen Nye, a Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office, said it was vital authorities can provide more information on how the incident came to occur.

He said: “We act for a number of people who have suffered serious injury in road traffic collisions and have seen just how devastating such incidents can be both physically and psychologically, often leaving victims needing long-term rehabilitation and care to deal with the consequences of such incidents

“It is vital that the investigation into this terrible multiple vehicle incident is able to provide full details on what happened and, more importantly, how lessons can be learned with a view to preventing it from happening again.”
