‘Digging Deep’ – Lawyers Make Donation And Help Plant Garden
A Dronfield school has received a £1,350 donation from a leading law firm to fund a special sensory garden that school children and people in the local community can enjoy.
The garden at St Andrews school is wheelchair accessible and will have five areas covering touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing and will feature fruit trees, a vegetable patch, scented and textured plants, garden sculptures and wind chimes.
Associate Joanne Winfield and Business Development Executive Alex Tilbury from Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office presented the cheque to the school’s headmaster at an assembly last month. And this month (November) staff from the firm got stuck in helping to plot and plant the land.
Joanne said: “We’re delighted to have contributed toward this wonderful space that school children can use to learn in a fun way, and that members of the local community can come to experience and enjoy.”
Derbyshire County Council has also given a grant to contribute to the garden.
