Expert Calls For Answers Into Chesterfield Bus Crash

Families Approach Firm Over Incident

An injury specialist at Irwin Mitchell has called for a thorough investigation to be undertaken in to the cause of a Chesterfield bus crash which left a number of schoolchildren needing medical attention.

Reports have revealed that authorities are continuing to probe the collision, which saw a double-decker vehicle operated by TM Travel hit a railway bridge last month.

Police have suggested the driver of the bus is still helping them with their inquiries, while all of the pupils on board have since returned to school.

Experts from Irwin Mitchell’s group actions team, who have been approached by the concerned parents of a number of children hurt in the crash, have revealed their hopes that this investigation will provide vital answers as to what happened.

Gary Walker, a solicitor at the law firm’s Sheffield office who is helping the families, said: “From what we have seen, this crash has understandably had a massive impact on all of the children involved.

“It goes without saying that the parents of those who were hurt are demanding reassurances that the safety of youngsters is a priority for transport operators used by schools.

“We hope that answers can be provided into why this happened so that lessons can be learnt.”
